Shakes & Fidget

Sound Design (since 2021)

Monster Sounds

Shakes & Fidget is a humorous fantasy role-playing satire.
Usually, I get new monsters or crazy weapons, like a hot dog pistol, to create sounds for. The artwork and ideas are incredibly inspiring, so it's a blast to experiment and bring the weirdest ideas to life.
For vocal performances of the monsters, I either record my own voice or invite my two favorites, Mathilde Hoffmann and Bastian Clausdorff, to my studio and have them perform a few "huarrrrs" or "mua-ha-ha-has".
For foley sounds, like clothing, armor, and that hot dog pistol, I use a mix of libraries and my own recordings.

Trailer Sounds

My work for Shakes & Fidget is not only limited to the in-game sounds.

Recently, I also composed music and designed sounds (including voices) for one of the game's trailers. It was fun to produce that clichéd holiday tune that morphs into an evil score straight from hell. Oh, and performing all the laughs that got crazier and crazier.

See for yourself!

Hellevator Music

One day I got the task of composing a short music track for the "Hellevator" — basically an elevator to hell.
In keeping with all the clichés, I unpacked my acoustic guitar, picked out the right samba chords, and started recording. Some Latin percussion and a whistled melody on top rounded off the whole piece of elevator-style music.

To get a real burner, I added an ambience with crackling fires and some screams in the background.

You can listen to the whole track down below.
